Ric Flair was an insightful individual. For quite some time, people have been predicting a "Wow Killer". But, as the quote says, to be the man, you have to beat the man. Age of Conan tried and failed. Warhammer tried and failed. Star Wars will succeed.
It is not in doubt that Star Wars is a mega-franchise and slapping that name on anything will bring in revenue. It is also not in doubt that Knights of the Old Republic was one of the greatest RPG franchises in recent history. Having just seen the trailer (which I've linked below). I have no doubt this is the game many have been waiting for.
Stay a while and listen.

Wooooooo indeed! Definitley one of the best trailers I have ever seen. I think it would be very interesting to see it take off and compete with the likes of WoW. Time will tell that though. Who knows, maybe you and I could be fighting side by side...or staring down each other lightsabers rofl. Which side would you be anyways???

If its anything like Galaxies i want nothing to do with it. nothing about that MMO was anything i wanted to do. I tend to never judge any game before i see the gameplay for myself. looks interesting but again if its anything like galaxies you probably wont ever see Ed there sith or no sith.
I will prolly play jedi (PVE this time, no PvP BULLSHIT for me). I trust bioware to do it right, KOTOR were some of my fav games ever.
I have to be honest, I was so jacked when Warhammer came out that I bought it right away. It was the single biggest waste of money I ever spent. What does this have to do with KOTOR? Well the trailer on that thing looked wicked. Seeing the orcs blood thirsty made me wanna grab a club and go smash my neighbor. The game however completely sucked.
I do not see it removing WoW. I think it will kick it into high gear and perhaps for once make Blizz take notice of a competitor, but soon Blizz will announce a new game and a new expansion for WoW and those trailers will be equally impressive and all those people who complain and whine, they will buy the expansion, regardless of what they say on the forums, blogs, or anywhere else.
I truly hope KOTOR is rocking, the trailer made me wanna go grab a ball bat and pretend it is a lightsaber and beat my neighbor with it! Don't you feel sorry for my neighbor?
As far as Galaxies goes, I never played it, but had some friends who were huge fans of it till they ruined it by tweaking with it too much. Hmmmmm maybe that will actually be the downfall of WoW, tweaking with the game too much!
Oh well, I have said enough. Maybe I will pick these ideas up and run with them in a blog.........nah! Too much work.
On a side note Fish, been under the weather so that is why you haven't seen me at work! Hopefully I will start feeling better soon so we can debate this stuff at lunch.
